This short story collection covers several fetishes with a variety of couplings. There’s several menage a trois, pregnancy breast milk, playing with ice, exhibitionism, etc. The main focus for all the stories seems to be on the tease rather than the consummation.First, I love the book cover. This is my second book from Wordwooze that I have reviewed and I really do like their book covers. Such a nice sexy departure from the typical erotica book cover art.
I believe there are 8 short stories in this collection, if I counted correctly. The author does a really good job with the tease for these stories. There’s a lot of build up to the main action, the actual intercourse. However, while the tease is great, the author always veered away from the coupling completely or it was a short lived act. I found this frustrating. Yes. That kind of frustrating.
Some of the fetishes just weren’t for me. For instance, playing with breast milk just doesn’t do it for me so I was tempted to fast forward through that one. However, with that said most of the stories held some interest for me. There was nothing new or revealing in this collection. Still, it is a solid tease for something more in depth from the author.

Narration: It took me a while to get use to Jazmin Kensington as the narrator. She comes off as young and perhaps naive at the beginning of the book, and the book opens with an experienced couple having some mildly rough play. So, her voice didn’t match up with the tone of the story. But later, she seems to be more comfortable with it and even allows a little purr to enter voice from time to time. Her character voices are distinct and she never hesitated over the naughty words.

One of the hallmarks of good erotica is that it’s an enjoyable read whether or not the particular kinks of it are the same as those of the reader. Valerie Brundage’s EROTIC DAYDREAMS certainly meets that criteria here. The ménage a trois stories in the collection, for example though not usually excited by ménage tales, I kept wanting to know what was going to happen psychologically and erotically with each character as the stories proceeded. This was true for all the stories. There tends to be a human interest in each tale that makes them hotter and which is lacking in a lot of erotica.
Valerie Brundage also employs skillful and economical use of language. “Four on the Floor,” for example, starts right in the middle of some hot public sex and humiliation action. You have not only the hot sex right away, but the complex psychological interaction of the characters involved. There is a lot of subtlety here about just who, exactly, is in control.
One of the hardest things to do in writing erotica is to avoid cliché. Well, these stories avoid them, every single time. And the narrative voices here are strong and interesting.
Not infrequently there is a sense of something odd going on the reader needs to think about more. This is particularly true of “The Private Retirement of Miss Pamela Boyshorts,” for example, which is my personal favourite in the collection—my fave because of the amazing way in which the protagonist is described and what she means the whole idea of the erotic popcult icon and erotic public display.
Needless to say, I highly recommend this book.
Exhibitionism, voyeurism and humiliation are recurring themes in this collection of exhilarating, and often startling, erotic shorts. There's a fearlessness, frankness and honest-to-god love of sex that grabbed me in each of the eight stories. I'll confess to some envy, too, the way the author was able to tap into her imagination. Yeah, I have erotic daydreams, but nothing like this. And, it's important to note, her skills as a writer mean there are no distractions all too common in a lot of erotica sloppy punctuation and formatting, lousy dialog and awful writing that takes you out of the story. This is solid and professional. It's the best erotica I've read this year (and I read a lot). I want more from Valerie Brundage.

This is a great little bundle of erotic short stories. They jump right into the action and can be read in on sitting or over a few. Included is a little for everyone. A couple of the stories were not really my cup of tea, but I do admit they are steamy. I am not into public humiliation or sex in public so those ones were not my favorite. I also found the last one I didn't really get. I did like the rest of the stories, I believe there were 8 in total.
The first half of the book read really well, the characters and stories were fast paced and action packed. I did find the editing didn't hold out all through the book, if you are just looking for a sexy read then that likely wont bother you. I do have a hard time with errors in novels of any kind.
I would be interested in reading more from this author as I do like her writing. I'm giving this book a 3.5 out of 4 stars.
So this book just wasn't for me. The author is definitely talented and will make great headway with readers who enjoy this kind of erotica. Unfortunately I'm just not a fan of a woman's breast milk being used in erotic play, and I'm not a fan of m/m/f menage. I usually only consider it if everything is focused on the woman, I don't really find m/m pairings erotic. This is just my opinion though and I know there is a niche market for this kind of erotica. But most of the stories had this going on so I had a hard time enjoying it. I'm giving it 2 stars for the fact that it just isn't my cuppa, but want to make sure I point out that this is in no way a negative mark against the author. It was well-written and well-edited, just not my thing.
